Spring-Ford Historical Society to Host Zion Lutheran Cemetery Tour

The Spring-Ford Area Historical Society will offer a guided tour of the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery on Sunday, October 4, beginning at 1:30 p.m.

The cemetery is located at 39 Bonnie Brae Road in Spring City. During the tour, participants will learn about some of the well-known and lesser-known former residents of the Spring-Ford area who are buried there.

The church and cemetery have ties to the Revolutionary War. According to the historical society, the church was used as a military hospital during the war, and Colonial Army soldiers are buried in the cemetery.

Following the tour, participants are invited to remain at the church for a 3 p.m. concert featuring the 1791 David Tannenberg pipe organ.

Tickets are $10 for Spring-Ford Area Historical Society members and $15 for non-members. Tickets can be purchased at sfahs.com.

The Spring-Ford Area Historical Society is a nonprofit organization operated by volunteers. The society maintains a museum at 526 Main Street in Royersford featuring artifacts, printed materials, and research items connected to the history of the area.
